Venky (Vishnu) is the son of Tanikella Bharani and Tulasi. They are like any other middle class parents and they run a coffee shop to make a living. Vishnu is not bright in studies. His only interest in life is to become kick boxing champion.
Pooja (Tapsee) is the sister of Narasimha (Prakash Raj). Narasimha is a local goon who wants to become an MLA. He is the follower of home minister Sayaji Shinde. Shinde's son Babu (Ajay) is smitten by Pooja and he is desperate to marry her. Both Narasimha and Sayaji agree to the alliance.
Narasimha sees his sister Pooja sitting next to Venky at tank bund. He thinks that Pooja is in love with Venky. The fact is Pooja and Vishnu are total strangers and they are actually waiting for their respective friends at tank bund.
Narasimha scolds his sister and says that she is moving around with a boy while he is getting ready to marry her to Ajay. Pooja is shocked and she tries to explain that he is mistaken but he does not listen. Pooja tries to commit suicide by jumping into the tank bund but is rescued by Venky.
When Venky is taking Pooja to her residence on his bike Narasimha stops him and says that they are eloping. He fires at Venky and the bullet pierces his chest. Narasimha also tortures the family of Venky and he also tortures Venky�s family members.
Venky is now angry and he wants to take revenge. So he kidnaps Pooja and hides her at the residence of Rajesh (Brahmanandam). Rajesh is the PA of the home minister. He was in love with Anjali (Surekha Vani) but she is forced to marry Sayaji Shinde who is now the home minister. Anjali manages to get Rajesh appointed as the PA of her husband. Meanwhile Narasimha who has by now realized his mistake makes amends and Venky hands over Pooja to her brother.
Without their knowledge Pooja and Venky have secretly fallen in love but do not express it. The scene now shifts to the marriage of Pooja with Ajay. Will Ajay tie the knot with Pooja or will Venky succeed in marrying Pooja and if so how. What happens to his ambition of becoming a kick boxer? This forms the basis for the remaining part of the story.
