Appalraju (Sunil) is a film lover. He watches all the films at the Rambha theater in Amalapuram. He is not happy at the way movies are being made now. So he prepares a script "Nayaki" and wants to make a film which according to him will create history at the box office.
Appalraju comes to Hyderabad to try his luck as director. He approaches a film producer Rocky (Raghu Babu). When h narrates the story to him he likes it and says that he will find a good producer.
They first approach a top heroine Kanisha and asks her to act in the film. After listening to the story she agree to do he film.
Then they persuade Kanisha to convince hero Babu Garu (Adarsh) to act in the film. Babu Garu has done a number of films with Kanishka and he is also having a affair with her. Kanihska convices Babu Garu and the film gets finance.
Just when everything seems to be going right, Babu Garu opts out of the film and the coporate company backs out from the film.
A dejected Apparaju is then convinced by Rocky and Harshavardhan to agree to get finance from a gangster Srisailam (Brahmanandam). Then Apparaju gets another hero KT (Ajay) to act in his film.
Srisailam and his lover, a bar dancer, then start poking their fingers in the making of the film. Srirsilam pens the lyrics for the film and he also writes a hot item song to be essayed by the bar dancer.
Apparaju has no option but to agree to their condions. The film finally gets completed. However Babu Garu who is angry with Kanishka acting with KT hatches a conspiracy to Make Nayaki a flop.
Babu Garu take the help of producer Ontikannu Gavarraju (Kota) and film critic of a website. The critics write negatively about Nayaki and gives it the worst possible ratings. Apparaju and co. are devastated. Then comes the good news, Babu Garu’s Sankranthi release is a disaster while Nayaki becomes a big box office hit. The film then goes on to bag all the awards at the ‘Gurram Awards’.
